Introduction to Painting with Oil – Clouds & Landscapes with Andrea Fredeen
The Quesnel Art Gallery is delighted to host a professional oil painting workshop with accomplished artist, Andrea S Fredeen. Designed for artists who typically work in other mediums but are curious about exploring oils, this hands-on session welcomes beginners to the medium who already have some painting experience.
Many artists find oil painting intimidating due to safety concerns, cleanup, or cost. Andrea will share over 30 years of expertise with this versatile and distinctive medium, guiding participants through the differences between oils and other paints, safe handling of solvents and varnishes, and the fundamentals of working with oil.
The day will include live demonstrations, opportunities to ask questions, and personalized instruction as you work on your own painting. Reference photographs will be provided, though participants are welcome to bring their own printed or tablet-based images (no phone-only references).
Join us for an inspiring, skill-building experience that will expand your creative toolkit and deepen your understanding of oil painting. Lunch will be provided by the Gallery and catered by a local business.
