About the Gallery:What started out as a small, volunteer-driven grassroots group has evolved over five decades to become one of the finest showcases of locally-grown Cariboo artistic talent in BC. Astoundingly, and to the surprise of many of its patrons, the Quesnel Art Gallery is still run completely on volunteer help.
Today the Quesnel Art Gallery is a provincially recognized society and governed by the regulations as defined in the British Columbia Societies Act. Volunteers drive every aspect of the gallery, from raising funds, to working with artists, to curating shows and staffing the gallery. Volunteers devote their time and energy to the Quesnel Art Gallery because of their passion for the arts and for promoting the work of artists from right here in Quesnel, to BC at large. In fact, while its main focus is on the work of local artisans and maintains a strong British Columbia flavor, the Quesnel Art Gallery has also hosted the works of artists from as far as away as Australia. This grassroots group is located in a beautiful, modern space within the Quesnel & District Arts & Recreation Centre at 500 North Star Road, Quesnel, BC. The Quesnel Art Gallery is committed to the continued support of Quesnel and British Columbia artisans. Its works are diverse and range from student artwork to landscape paintings reflective of rugged BC life to interpretive sculptures and much more. The volunteers at the Quesnel Art Gallery are thankful for over five decades of local support. They invite you to stop in for a visit. If you've never been a guest of ours, you just might be surprised at what you find inside. Thank you for supporting YOUR Local Public Art Gallery & all of our Local Artists! If you are a member in good standing of the Quesnel Art Gallery Society, you may feature your work on the Member Artists page.
