Sharilee Golob
Sharilee has been a long time resident of Quesnel, B.C, since she arrived as a two year old with her family. She has resided in the rural community of Nazko ever since her marriage to her husband Bojan. She fondly remembers growing up with her brothers as they played in the big back yard with the forest and nature all around. It was during these early years that she realized her love of birds and all things living. In her teenage years her family began a journey into the ranching world. This lifestyle was perfect for her as she continued to develop her love of animals and nature.
She resides with her husband at their rural home in Nazko, a small community 65 miles west of Quesnel where they raised their 3 wonderful children. Sharilee has always loved to draw, and took art in high school. It has only been since her children have grown and left home that she has been able to get back to art and drawing. Sharilee took a community watercolour painting course in 2006 And she was off. She found a medium that could colour her sketches. She reawakened her love of art combined with her love of nature and has been creating ever since. She creates colourful realistic paintings of landscapes, fauna, and wildlife and of course birds. Sharilee is well known in the community of Nazko as an avid birdwatcher and her art reflects this love and passion for our feathered friends. Sharilee’s work portrays a love and passion of nature and it’s beauty. Her dream is to share her love of nature and all things in it to others and to promote the importance of caring for our environment so that we, and all creatures of this earth, may all continue to live and thrive together. |
