Covid-19 Artist Statement

As an artist I am not a stranger to isolation as most of my creative painting takes place in solitude. I have taken this time in reflection, challenging my art skills by practicing new techniques and researching reference material.

​I have accomplished new works of art and finished two commission works during this time. As an art instructor I have missed the classroom and my students whom I hug upon entry and exiting the classroom.

On a personal note, my husband is very happy with the help maintaining the never ending yard work, gardening, cooking, baking and quiet time with my company….!  We have made an effort to connect with our loved ones by facetime, writing note cards and chatting by phone.

We adhere to Dr. Bonnie Henry’s advice to ‘be kind, be calm and be safe’.
