Bobbie Crane AFC
It is the appreciation of nature’s simple beauty that sends Bobbie to her easel. Each painting evolves and is inspired by the Cariboo lifestyle she enjoys. She brings life to her passion through acrylic art.
It is a daily occurrence for her to witness eagles and osprey soaring around the tree tops. Squirrels and chipmunks scamper along the rockery in her yard while deer, moose and fox pass through as she tours the gardens to see the newest blossoms open to the sunshine. Each day Bobbie sits down with a brush, canvas, paints and bring forth an image that has inspired her creativity. For most of Bobbie’s professional career she has concentrated on leading art classes and workshops. Bobbie feels that painting is a creative place where students can always find peace, hope and joy in every brush stroke. In 2015 she became a juried ‘active member’ of the Federation of Canadian Artists and in 2019 a ‘Signature member’ of the Artist for Conservation Foundation….the world’s leading artist group supporting the environment. Bobbie successfully exhibited solo shows at Parkside Art Gallery in 100 Mile House, Station House Gallery in Williams Lake, B.C., Quesnel Art Gallery in Quesnel, B.C and several art submissions to the Granville Island FCA Gallery in Vancouver, B.C. She was awarded 1st and 2nd place ‘People’s Choice Award’ in 2015 and 2016 respectively, 1st place in 2017 and 2018 Williams Lake Art Walk. Awarded ‘Honourable mention and People’s Choice Award’ in the Cariboo Artist Guild Annual Summer 2015 and 2016 exhibitions respectively in 100 Mile House, B.C. Bobbie’s goal is for every painting to tell a story and to touch people in ways nothing else can. |
