Ron Magill Hello,
A quick and very brief recap of my artistic/work history; I began carving around the tender age of 12 in the year 1958; I know that makes me old! Due to personal choices and life in general, my exhibition history is very limited, having shown only in three or four Galleries. However, in spite of that I have had quite a few private commissioned sales. Through carving and my career in mining my creativity branched out into instruction, writing and illustration. I illustrated and wrote an article entitled “Composition in Carving“ for the Canadian Workshop magazine, now defunct and have illustrated a book published by the Highway Book Shop situated in Cobalt Ontario. In addition the University of Saskatchewan uses my art work in their lecture series Geological Engineering GEOE 498.3 Introduction to Mineral Engineering. To round out my artistic repertoire I hold a diploma in photography (a very old diploma). While it doesn’t feel that way, I am now retired. |
