The gift of inspiration behind a carving frequently arrives through unusual channels; in this case it was from watching a show on Opera.

There was an exterior shot of a historic Opera house in England. I saw a fleeting image of a horse’s hitching post that was used when there were such things. It was gorgeous! 

​Now my carving doesn’t look anything like the one I saw but what do you expect from an image an eye-blink long?
